Unfortunately, I am lesss optimistic. This land has been fought over since recorded time began and it will never change in my opinion.

The only period of peace existed when no one layed soveriegn claim to the land. Now everyone feels entitled to all of it and none for those who disagree.

War and terror is enabled by religion and there is not a religion of peace with any influence in this part of the world.

The purpose of religion is to differentiate those of one religion from all those "others". It is a tool that fanatics and evangelists use to further their own agendas of domination over those who do not kneel to their views or measure up to their idea of morality.

Normally, I am an optimistic person, but on this subject I truly feel there is no way to facilitate a peaceful resolution that would be satisfactory to the three main religions. Too much mistrust, hatred and false information is being disseminated by the radical fringes of each.

I would love to be proven wrong. I would actually pray to be proven wrong. For if there was true peace, many of us would be able to travel to this part of the world and see the original sites that our religions are based on.

I hope I have not offended anyone, but sadly, those are my true feelings.

i think you are right - about the fanatics and their agendas - they will always remain -

but jews, muslims have in the past lived well together

jews played major roles within the political structures of muslim rule

if cooperation could exist then - then we can find a way to co-exist again

when i was in america - a jewsish american stared at my mother in fear - my mum wears a hijab - i was so annoyed

here a few days ago whilst shopping a jewish orthodox family rushed for the elevator door to close so i and my children would not get it in - i can only say it was religion that motivated this behaviour

when inside my mum commented on the cool bike their child was riding - it was attached to a push chair.......that comment broke the icy wall of fear, suspicion......and the father began to chat with us he was uneasy but he tried to be friendly - at least he tried

his wife just could not even give a smile - she was very uneasy!

this was a strange thing for me - non-orthodox jews are not like that - and muslims just behave normally too - but sometimes a case like this arises and its all to do with misunderstanging, fear

once people break the barrier and say hello it all can change

jews and muslims have alot in common in terms of their faith and practises - they just need to find courage to wave goodbye to the unholy past well actually the present,.........whatever .......im going......
